24 hours indices trading starting soon

November 16, 2018

We are proud to announce the introduction of 24-hours trading on our three most popular indices: GER30, UK100, US30.

As of Monday 3 December 2018, ThinkMarkets offers traders the chance to open and close positions on GER30, UK100 and US30 around the clock, also known as after-hours trading.

All open positions on the aforementioned indices from 3rd December 2018 onwards will be subject to price movements throughout the night. Traders can choose to open and close their positions during normal trading hours or keep them open and manage them around the clock.

Benefits & challenges of after-hours trading

After-hours trading has become increasingly popular for several reasons. Breaking news stories can hit the market outside of standard trading hours. The ability to trade in after-hours allows traders to position themselves the moment fresh information hits the market, instead of waiting for next day’s open. For traders with trading strategies that require full flexibility, off-peak trading provides the convenience to apply them.

It should also be noted that liquidity outside normal trading hours may be lower as fewer participants are buying and selling and therefore spreads may widen.

To help traders understand after-hours trading, we have arranged a webinar How to trade indices 24 hours a day on Monday 21st November at 10.30pm AEST.

Should you require more information, our multilingual team is available 24 hours a day during the trading week, just like our three most popular indices.
